One of the awkwardest and happiest moments of my life was was when I was waiting for my mom to pick me up(we didn't have a bus) and me and my friend were sitting on this long bench thingy near the gate with two three girls 3 meters-ish to my right. His car comes, and I'm sitting there hoody up, earphone in one ear so I could hear my mom, emo af. I hear the girls start to giggle and talk quickly near me, I glance over and they're looking at me, I almost hyperventilate. One runs over to me and drops a chit of paper and runs away, thought it would be something along the lines of "lonely goth sitting in a tree, h-a-n-g-i-n-g, first comes the rope, then the knot" lo and behold it's her number. Anyway I was so socially inept that I was to nervous to text/call her, it's been a year and now I'm in college

This post is what has convinced me that we're becoming far too fragile. There are many reasons they could be giggling, a number of which aren't inherently negative. If you assume everything, every little response or thing people are doing around you, is in some way negative towards you, eventually those assumptions become reality.
