I'm a problem solver. If there's a problem, I try to fix it. If there is no solution, I try to find at least a compromise. My now ex boyfriend is a problem generator because it gives him attention. I avoid such people now.

While it takes two to tango, my mom divorced my dad because he would belittle, argue and never listen. He did the same to me. He was a great farther and did his best, but struggled to control his emotions. I have these traits too, but in the heat of anger, I always take a moment to remind myself that I’m acting like my dad. My wife notices this and helps me keep things under control, I really don’t deserve her. Anyways, I discovered that intense adrenaline based exercise like sprinting and lifting help me channel the aggression and frustration.

Great advise. I broke my last relationship because of always trying to fix, explain, be rational and reflective instead of just letting my girl dwell in her illusions as long as she needed it. Sometimes it’s more important to comfort your loved one by taking a stance for him/her instead of telling a hard to swallow truth. Forcing reality on people never works.

I hate listening to my wife's problem. She knows the solution herself but doesn't want to act on it. She talks about it to me, and now I get emotionally distressed and can't do nothing about it. That's like having shit on your hand and spreading it to my hand. I tell you to wash your hands as a solution, but you refuse and say that I don't get it.
